  There might be more modern, more spacious or more luxurious hotels on Gran Canaria, but Fonda de la Tea was as charming as you can imagine. Staff was very helpful and we had a lot of fun staying there. As an example we had a problem at the harbour in Agaete, where we needed something from the room in a matter of 1,5 hours. Early in the morning Serafina found a solution and organized everything, saving us two days of our holiday.

  The Hotel "Fonda de la Tea" in Tejeda was basecamp for our 10 day cycling holiday on Gran Canaria.

  The room was in the third floor (elevator available) in second row of the house (first row is only one floor high, so all rooms have a gorgeous view). It was nice and comfortable. There could be a little bit more shelf/locker space for different stuff, but for normal visitors it is sufficient. The beds are comfortable and were made up every day as the rest of the room as well.

  Free Internet WiFi is working good (17 MBit downstream, 1 MBit upstream) and was available all the time.

  The manager Serafina was very helpful and booking was easy. When we arrived at 9pm she stayed longer at the hotel to welcome us. She gave us a very warm welcome. As we had our slightly pricy bicycles with us we asked if we could take them to the room, but Serafina had a nearly perfect solution for us. She immediately recognized that we were somewhat special about that topic and offered us the meeting room, where we could not only store our bike luggage but also could mount our bikes and keep them during the whole stay. We got a key and had access to the bikes all the time. For sure not a standard procedures and very appreciated.

  After our primary hotel was damaged by a bush fire and closed for rebuilding, we asked at Fonda de la Tea for a room, which was surprisingly possible on a very short notice.
